A Personal Bollywood Victory!!!

Yeah!!!! After MONTHS of trying to get my daughter to watch BW movies with me, I FINALLY got her, her husband and my husband to watch 3 Idiots! I couldn't believe it! This is coming from a person who always snorted in disgust when I mentioned Bollywood, or if I was listening to the music would heave a sigh and actually leave my home! So anyway, they watched the movie and LIKED IT!!! The only thing they didn't care for was the birthing scene because they said it was so far-fetched. I forgot to warn them that there ARE going to be far-fetched scenes in BW movies. lol What also convinced them to watch it was that is also had Fox's backing, which I guess upped the value in their eyes. Anyway, I just had to share this milestone with everyone! :-)

We were at a coffee place and there was karaoke going on and when we started talking about bollywood we had to get up and start dancing!--bw style of course! Finally! One of my friends wants to watch with me! She hasn't seen too many yet, but loves what she's seen so far. And on a sadder note...I did see Nauseum--OOPS! sorry, I meant Mausam! UGH. I thought it was soooo bad, that I kept looking at the time to see how much longer I had to endure it. That hardly ever happens when I watch a bw movie. And I'm not a big fan of Sonam Kapoor (I don't think she can act). But Shahid, Shahid....*sigh* I wanted to reach through the screen and shake him and say, 'WHY, OH WHY did you do this movie??!! You're talents were wasted!' But that's just my opinion. I know others have liked it.

The theater that's about an hour away from me has just gotten it there a few days ago, so I'm planning to go see it there. It will be my first BW movie to see at a theater--I'm so excited! What did you like about it?

I figured trying 3 Idiots because I thought, How can anyone NOT like that movie??? Of course, they DID have to comment on the length of the film--even though it's one of the shorter BW movies. And my husband (eyeroll here)...after only 2 hours asked, "So when is this movie over?" I couldn't believe it! Ok, so maybe there IS 1 person that doesn't like the movie! Lol
